FORT MYERS, Fla.- Fort Myers Seventh-Day Adventist Church’s Inaugural 5K/1-mile Fun Run today benefits the Mission Nutrition Program at Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida.

Mission Nutrition gives local children the skills and information they need to adopt healthy eating habits and behaviors.

The event – “Run on a Mission for Nutrition” - began at 9 a.m. at the church, located at 3451 Ortiz Ave., Fort Myers, FL 33905.  Non-runners and runners alike are welcome to attend and enjoy the many scheduled fun-filled activities.

 More than just a run, the event features free health screenings, healthy food samples, physical fitness instruction, the Fort Myers Police SWAT team obstacle course for kids, music from WAY-FM, Red Sox ticket auction, Kid Care information and much more.
