FORT MYERS, Fla. - The FGCU women are going to the big dance!

It was a whiteout at Alico Arena Sunday as the Lady Eagles took on the Stetson Hatters in the Atlantic Sun Championship. FGCU came out on top in a nail biter, winning in overtime 72-70.

They've earned themselves a bid to the NCAA Tournament. This is their second trip in three years. Guard Sarah Hansen said expectations have been high all year on campus and they came together as a team Sunday to deliver a win.

"We knew that it would come down to a tough game," Hansen said. "We knew it would come down to us coming together as a team and playing basketball how we've been playing all year. I think that's always been in the back of our mind as we progressed here this season."
Afterward, the team did the ceremonial cutting of the net with each player getting a piece as a keepsake of their big game. Tune in to WINK Sports tonight for highlights from the hardwood.
