LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. -- An early morning brush fire in Lehigh Acres is now out.

Firefighters were on scene near Darlington St. and Sumac Ave. around 3 a.m. Friday fighting the 1.5-acre fire, and by 6:30 crews had completely cleared the area.

Lehigh Acres Fire Rescue tells WINK News Reporter Vanessa Ruffes a stolen car caught fire in the same area around midnight. Firefighters put that fire out and left the scene, but say the brush nearby could have reignited. An investigator says the car fire was likely intentionally set.

Firefighters say they will return to the area around 9 a.m. after the next shift starts. They say no homes or other building were ever in any danger.
