PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies have arrested a man in connection with a shooting incident that happened at Azalea Avenue and Ridgeway Street on Tuesday. They continue to look for a woman in connection with the same incident.
Craig Steven Barra Jr., 24, was arrested last evening on a warrant charging him with Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Discharging a Firearm in Public and Criminal Mischief. He was booked into the Charlotte County Jail where he is being held on a total $27,500 bond.
Meanwhile investigators are continuing to look for Barra's wife, 18-year-old Alyssa Paige Fisher, in connection with the incident. According to information they have received, Fisher is possibly staying in the North Port area.
On Tuesday at about 3:00 p.m., Barra and Fisher are alleged to have gone to the Azalea Avenue area in a newer model silver car. Fisher was driving and Barra was sitting in the passenger seat.
When they reached the area of a residence in the 200 block of Azalea Avenue, Barra allegedly got out of the car while it was still slowly moving forward and fired two shots from an unknown type handgun in the direction of the house. The two shots struck a vehicle that was parked by the house, breaking the windows.
After Barra got back into the car, it became hung up off the pavement temporarily, giving the resident of the home time to come out and see Fisher as the driver and Barra in the passenger seat, still holding the handgun. The resident was personally familiar with both Barra and Fisher prior to the incident.
The vehicle was seen speeding away down Azalea and through the parking lot of the Walgreen's onto the access road.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Alyssa Paige Fisher is asked to please call the Sheriff's Office at (941) 639-2101.
