PUNTA GORDA, Fla.-  Charlotte County Sheriff's deputies arrested 30-year-old Ashley Polk for allegedly stealing more than $27,000 from her employer since November 2013.

Polk worked as the officer manager for AA Disaster Restoration 24/7, Inc. for two years, but reportedly began stealing from the company in November of last year. Several checks were discovered, made payable to Polk or to the owner of the business, that had the owner's signature forged on them. The checks had been cashed and Polk received the funds.

According to CCSO, checks were forged with amounts ranging from $400 to $1,500 each. Polk is also accused of using the company credit card three times without permission.

In total, Polk passed 94 checks totaling $27,382.61, according to her arrest report.

Based on facts, evidence and testimony, Polk was arrested for grand theft, scheming to defraud, uttering forged instruments, and fraudulent use of a credit card.
