FORT MYERS, Fla.- Two men appeared in court this morning after allegedly pointing guns at Fort Myers Police officers, just before midnight on Saturday on Blount St. at High St. One of the officers opened fire, but no one was injured.

Raul Chivarria, 23, and Luis Sanchez, 18, are both behind bars. Police hunted the men down and arrested them.

Chivarria and Sanchez are facing assault, resisting arrest and other charges for the incident.

The judge said Chivarria pointed a sub-machine gun at the officer and has allegedly pointed a gun at officers twice before.

The judge ordered Chivarra to surrender all of his firearms and told both men to not have any contact with the victims.
