CAPE CORAL, Fla. -- A three car crash sent three people to the hospital early Saturday morning. One was a trauma alert.

It happened at the intersection of Santa Barbara Blvd. and Cape Coral Pkwy. around 1:30 a.m. Cape Coral Firefighters tell WINK News they had to use the jaws of life to rescue two of the three victims, who were trapped in an SUV.

According to Lt. Jimmy Lester one of those victims was "slumped over and not breathing" when firefighters arrived on the scene. Lester says they opened his airway, which restored breathing, and cut him out of the SUV.

There were actually five people involved in the crash, but only three went to the hospital.

Firefighters say the people inside one of the vehicles were not wearing seat belts.

WINK News is working to get the status of all three victims and you can count on WINK News to bring that information to you, as soon as it becomes available.
