PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- A shooting at a party in Port Charlotte left two people injured, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office. Deputies say it happened at a small hall in the 2000 block of Tamiami Trail overnight.
The 2421 Events Center Managing Partner Charlie Greenwald says police recovered about 28 shell casings. Deputies arrested 24-year-old Nicholas Whyte of Lehigh Acres for aggravated battery.
The sheriff's office tells WINK News people at the party got into an argument that spilled out into the parking lot where someone fired a gun.
Two people were shot, one of them suffered minor injuries and the other is stable at a Tampa hospital, according to the sheriff's office.
Deputies have arrested one person and are still investigating.
