FORT MYERS, Fla. - The threat of severe storms on Thursday afternoon came and went with no reports of serious damage, but plenty of rain, wind, lightning, and thunder.
WINK News viewers shared pictures and video of the storms as they rolled through Southwest Florida's neighborhoods.
Some captured pictures of ominous, low-lying clouds. Others shot home video of strong wind and driving rain. The National Weather Service went to Twitter, sharing radar images of a weather phenomenon known as a "bow echo" moving onshore in Collier and Lee counties.
In the Tampa Bay area, citizens captured at least one of three confirmed tornadoes on camera. Damage was limited to downed tree brances, a fence, and a shed. There were no reports of injuries.
