LEE COUNTY, Fla.-  WINK News crews spotted Coast Guard boats leaving the scene where a yacht burned on the water off Sanibel Island Monday.

WINK News is learning a wreckage company will have to come up with a plan to remove the wreckage.

The 64-foot yacht caught fire Monday.  A plume of thick black smoke was visible for miles as it shot hundreds of feet into the air.

WINK News was the only televison station at the scene Monday as the boat's owners, Carl and Terri Natale, were rescued and brought to shore.

Several local agencies joined the rescue effort Monday.  Florida Fish and Wildlife is taking the lead on an investigation to determine what sparked the blaze.

The boat's owner declined an on-camera interview, telling WINK News an insurance company is handling things.

WINK News will be on the water with continuing coverage of this developing story.  Check back for updates.
