FORT MYERS, Fla.- "It's just a great place to be for Spring Break."

FGCU students tell WINK News they're getting the best of both worlds this week. Not only is it Spring Break, but their team is just two games away from making it to the NCAA tournament for a second straight year.

:I was pretty excited because I figured there would be more people on campus and it would just be a good Spring Break environment for the entire college," said student Jake Beil.

Jake Beil said many of his classmates changed their Spring Break plans and are staying in Southwest Florida to watch the Eagles play. On Tuesday, WINK News was there, where the student section was packed.

"I was pretty surprised there were a lot of people that were on campus and at the game and it was just a really cool atmosphere," said freshman Joseph Govia.

But if you can't get a ticket for the game, many fans tell WINK News, they're going to Stevie Tomato's on Daniels Parkway in South Fort Myers to watch FGCU's road to March Madness.

"It was quite busy in here," said General Manager Bobby Slabe. "We still had that one section of the restaurant filled up with FGCU fans."

And if the team continues winning, the excitement will only get stronger.

"Everybody loves to see a good home team go all the way, hopefully," said Slabe.
