LEE COUNTY, Fla.- The Lee County Sheriff's Office is investigating a burglary that happened on the 14000 block of Seabury Ct. Friday evening. The homeowners apparently walked in on the burglary in progress.

The victims returned home around 7:45 p.m. and found a closet door closed that is usually kept open. A small floor safe was missing from inside.

One of the homeowners spotted drag marks on the floor leading out to the pool deck, where he found his safe sitting on the floor.

Two men can be seen on surveillance video, walking around and inside the home. The men spent 17 minutes in the bedroom, according to the footage. Then, they're seen emerging from the bedroom, dragging the safe.

The owner said that to his knowledge the only people who knew the location of the safe other than himself, was his wife and the previous owner who had left the safe behind. It was never utilized by the current owners.

Nothing else had been taken, other than expensive pieces of jewelry that had been out in plain sight.

K-9 and aviation units searched for the suspects with negative results.

Based on the surveillance video, deputies said the subjects appear to have been wearing jeans or dark pants, light colored hoodies pulled over their heads, and one subject was wearing dark-colored gloves. Both appeared to be male, between 5'10 and 6', with one having a heavier build while the other had a medium build.

If you have any information, you are asked to call SWFL Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
