MARCO ISLAND, Fla.- Marco Island firefighters extinguished flames at a five-story condominium at 1101 Swallow Ave. this afternoon.

The 911 call came in just before 3:00 p.m. Everyone was evacuated from the building, and no injuries were reported.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw heavy smoke coming from a first floor unit at Florentine Gardens. Inside, they found fire in a bathroom that had spread into the wall and ceiling space.  Firefighters removed sections of the wall and ceiling and were able to extinguish the fire.

Two units were damaged. The estimated damage is approximately $50,000.

Firefighters from East Naples and Isles of Capri assisted.
