FORT MYERS, Fla. - The Fort Myers News-Press hosted the 15th annual Market Watch at the Harborside event center on Tuesday. The sold out event drew more than 900 people to hear local real estate experts discuss the health of the southwest Florida real estate market.  The song, "Celebration" playing on overhead speakers greeted arriving guests and seemed to set the tone for the evening. Realtor Denny Grimes, a key speaker at the event, tells WINK NEWS, the last 4 years have seen consistant increases in home prices and a decrease in what he calls, "Toxic Properties".

"I declare this market healed," Grimes said during the interview. Other speakers agreed with Grimes saying commercial properties and land sales were making a comeback as well.
