LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Lee County authorities are looking for a woman who is seen on surveillance video, using an infant to shield an apparent crime. The video shows the woman picking up a phone and hiding it behind the baby, as they leave a store.

The incident occured on Thursday, at the retail outlet, Once Upon A Child, on US 41 south of Page Field.

One shopper had left her cell in a cart, and the video shows the suspect taking the cell, placing it behind the baby she was holding, and then using a blanket to further shield the phone from view.

"This is really low. It is one thing to commit a crime, but another to use your baby to help you do the crime.  This woman is going to jail.  She is not going to profit much from this phone, and probably cannot even use it.  She is not going to the mother of the year because of this kind of behavior," says Trish Routte of SW Florida Crime Stoppers.

If you know anything about the crime or the suspect, please call Crime Stoppers. You may be eligible for a reward.
