LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Judge Alane Laboda ruled against John Sullivan's lawsuit which challenged the November 2013 election saying Sullivan's attorney did not prove his case. Sullivan alleged everything from voter fraud to improper appointments to the canvassing board. That board oversees the election process. Sullivan also claimed 4 people voted in the election that lived outside of the city, but only provided two witnesses who admitted to doing so. The judge said there was not evidence to show the election would have been swayed to Sullivan's favor. In her decision she also granted the defendants, Mayor Marni Sawicki and several others, all legal fees pertaining to the case. That could mean Sullivan would be on the hook for more than 100 thousand dollars.
