TAMPA, Fla. (AP) - The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating another wrong-way crash on Interstate 275 in Tampa.
The crash that killed one person happened early Friday in the southbound lanes of I-275 near Bearss Avenue.
Troopers say an older model Honda was going north in the southbound lanes when it crashed into an Enterprise rental truck. The driver of the car died in the collision.
The truck driver and his passenger escaped with minor injuries.
The interstate was closed in both directions for several hours.
This is the second fatal, wrong-way crash along this stretch of I-275 in two weeks. A driver going the wrong way on Feb. 9 crashed into a car carrying four University of South Florida students. All five died.
