COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- Two toddlers are in protective custody after Collier County deputies found them in a car they say smelled of marijuana. The kids were found during a traffic stop along Pine Ridge Road last night.

Now, two adults are behind bars. Deputies arrested them on numerous charges, including child neglect. WINK News got exclusive video as paramedics rushed the toddlers into NCH North. As you can see in the video, the children were still in their car seats.

Deputies said they pulled over a car Thursday evening on Pine Ridge Road and North Collier Boulevard that smelled of marijuana. They arrested 32-year-old Steve Gabriel and 30-year-old Francia Pompilus, who has been positively identified as the children's mother.

Gabriel is facing charges of child neglect and drug possession. He also had an outstanding warrant out of Lee County.

Pompilus is facing charges of child neglect and trafficking cocaine.
