PUNTA GORDA, Fla. - Leaders are taking another step to help folks get healthy! They're moving forward with plans to build an adult playground in town.
The project would include building fitness equipment along some of the park paths. It would things like balance steps, rowing machines and chest presses. Leaders say this will encourage healthy lifestyles but also give an option for those who can't afford a gym membership.
"I was bound in a wheelchair when I had my leg broken so I know what it's like and now that I can get out and walk, I do it... so that would be a great idea if we have a gym at the park," says Zora Nanoo.
The estimated cost is about $25,000. Leaders are looking into getting grant funding for the project.
