PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office is asking for assistance in identifying two women who were involved in passing a fraudulent check on Friday.
On February 14 at about 8:40 p.m., two younger women went into the Best Buy store, located at 18700 Veterans Blvd. One of the women purchased a Bluetooth speaker pod with what turned out to be a fraudulent $100 American Express Traveler’s Check. She left with the speaker and about $57 in cash in change.
The woman who presented the check is pictured on the right in the green hoodie.
Anyone with information on the identity of either of these women is asked to please call the Sheriff’s Office at (941) 639-2101 (ask for Economic Crimes), or Crime Stoppers at 800-780-TIPS (8477).
