FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla.- It was no day at the beach for people stuck in traffic trying to get over the Matanzas Pass Bridge. Traffic was backed up for miles today. It's a sign that season is heating up in Southwest Florida.

For those who have never experienced "season" on Fort Myers Beach, the rumors about the traffic tie-ups are true.

"It's bad, I don't know if I would sit in it," said visitor Kim Wright.

To avoid sitting in bumper to bumper traffic, New York visitor Kim w=Wright opted for two wheels, rather than four.

"People at the pool say it's faster to ride our bike than it is to take a car or the trolley, so we are bike riding."

What is often a long wait down San Carlos Blvd., means "money" for local businesses. John Shaw with RAL Resort Property Management said the traffic jam in front of his building sparks inquiries

"A lot of people are bored, they are looking to get out, stretch their legs, they come hang out and often times inquire about property and sometimes even rent," said Shaw.

Others said the traffic isn't so bad. They simply just plan their entire day around it.

"If you want to go to the beach, you have to put up with all the fun!"
