FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Police in Fort Lauderdale are looking for a thief who took a Girl Scout's cell phone while she was selling cookies outside a local grocery store.

Detectives say the theft took place shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday at a Winn-Dixie store. Two men approached the Girl Scouts, and one of them swiped the phone. The two men then ran off.

Police searched the area but did not find either man or the phone. Authorities say store surveillance video is available that could help in the investigation.

In 2008, thieves in Palm Beach County stole $168 from a Girl Scout selling cookies outside a supermarket.
