FORT MYERS, Fla. - A 25-year-old motorcyclist involved in a crash Tuesday night on the Midpoint Bridge has died from his injuries. Rustin Day was transported to Lee Memorial Hospital in critical condition, where he remained for two days.

According to the crash report, Day hit another vehicle on the bridge, which threw him from his bike, over the side of the bridge, and into the trees on McGregor Blvd. below. His bike flipped several times and disintegrated.

The report says he was traveling 120 miles per hour in a posted 45 mph zone.

Alcohol and drugs are suspected as factors, but test results are pending.

No one else was injured in the crash.
