PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- A woman was arrested early this morning after she had falsely reported that she had been robbed, according to the Charlotte County Sheriff's Office.
Just before 9:00 p.m. on Monday, deputies were called by Sara Elizabeth Grob, 29, who said she had been robbed. Grob told deputies a black car had pulled up to her as she was walking along Harborview Road. She alleged that a man had gotten out of the car and demanded her wallet, which she turned over to him, before she pepper sprayed the man. Grob told deputies the man got back into the car and it fled the area.
During the investigation of Grob’s complaint, detectives noted many inconsistencies in her accounts of the incident. As the result of their investigation, detectives determined that Grob had not actually been the victim of a crime.
Grob was charged with Filing a False Police Report and transported to the Charlotte County Jail where she is being held on a $3,500 bond.
