LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Thanks to a Crime Stoppers tip, the duo caught on camera using a stolen credit card have been identified as Sixta Rivera Medina, 29, and Alfredo Medina, 23. After being contacted by a Lee County Sheriff’s Office detective, both suspects turned themselves in this morning.
Southwest Florida Crime Stoppers asked for the public's help identifying the suspects who were caught on surveillance cameras at two Lehigh Acres stores, making purchases with a stolen credit card. The card had been taken from an unlocked car between shortly after 11:30 p.m. on January 14th.
In the short time the victim was away from her car, someone helped themselves to her purse, personal identification and credit cards. Within 20 minutes, the first purchase was made at 11:49 p.m. at Walgreens by a Hispanic female, with subsequent charges made by a Hispanic male for beer and other items. The duo went from business to business until their final destination of Walmart, where they were spotted trying to purchase children’s clothing. The female suspect can be seen on camera swiping the stolen card, which by that point was declined as a result of the cardholder realizing she’d been victimized.
