CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fl. - "She was my daughter's constant companion she was with her all the time," says Pat Lewis.
Pat Lewis is determined to bring that beloved copanion home again. The dog belonged to Lewis's daughter, Carol.
Last Thursday, Carol died in a car crash on US-17 near Arcadia. The 28-year-old was heading home to Punta Gorda from college in Orlando where she was studing to be a vet.
Lewis says Carol's dog, Roxy, was in the car with her. A witness told investigators the dog took off when they opened Carol's door to try and help her.
"They could not find her, she bolted she was very scared," Lewis adds.
Now, more than ever, Lewis wants to bring Roxy home. Someone spotted the pup near the DeSoto County line Tuesday afternoon.
Lewis took her dog, Lady, out hoping to pick up on a scent. They were unsuccessful as of Tuesday afternoon.
She's asking the community to keep their eyes out and help bring this part of her daughter's life back home.
"Since I can't do anything about the situation with my daughter at least I can possibly get Roxy back And have a part of my daughter with me," she adds.
Anyone who spots or catches the dog is asked to call Pat Lewis at 941-916-2305.
