COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- The remains of an approximately 1.5-year-old male Florida panther were recovered last night on SR-29 at Owl Hammock Curve.

The panther had been hit by a vehicle. This is the 3rd panther mortality and 2nd road mortality for 2014.

The carcass is currently stored at the FWC Naples Field Office and will eventually be transported to the FWC Wildlife Research Lab in Gainesville for a complete necropsy.
