FORT MYERS, Fla.- The Fort Myers Police Department's Marine Unit rescued four elderly subjects from a 17-foot ski boat that was taking on water in Caloosahatchee River this afternoon.

It happened just before 2:30 p.m.

The subjects were located at Marker 49, which is one mile west of the Downtown boat ramp.

The boat was towed and the four occupants were brought safely back to the boat ramp.

It is unknown why the vessel was taking on water.
