CAPE CORAL, Fla. - "He would have done the same for any of us.", Coach Mike Urraro says. Eddie Buggs passed away on December 28th after a battle with cancer. According to friends, Eddie was a sports phenomenon on the football field. His coach says he believed the teen was destined to play professional sports. But after suffering a series of headaches, a doctor's visit would confirm the worst. Eddie fought the cancer into remission earlier this year, his coach tells WINK News. But the disease would show up again, this time in Eddie's spine. Urraro was there with Eddie on the day he passed away. One of the teen's dying wishes was for his sports highlight reel to be on ESPN. So thoses closest to him launched a Twitter campaign, #geteddieonespn, where thousands of tweets and Facebook messages lead to the network airing the video.

On January 25th at the Storms Complex in Cape Coral, a memorial is scheduled that is being called a "celebration of life" to remember the young man. Eddy's coach says it will help his friends, family and teammates say goodbye to the kid who's motto was, "never give up."
