FORT MYERS, Fla. - This Saturday, Southwest Florida will come together again to fight hunger in the community. The WINK News Feeds Families Hunger Walk presented by Garden Street Iron & Metal and the Lee County Sheriff’s Office has the goal of raising $300,000 for Harry Chapin Food Bank.

As of Wednesday morning, the food bank tells WINK News it is still about $87,000 shy of that goal.

To help out, you can donate money or collect pledges as a walker. Every $1 you raise will provide $6 worth of food to your neighbors in need. Harry Chapin Food Bank provides food for 150 agencies in the five-county area of Southwest Florida.

For more information on helping out or registering, visit the HCFB website.

The walk takes place at Miromar Outlets in Estero. Registration is at 8:30 a.m. The walk begins at 9:30 a.m.
