PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla.- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office has arrested 28-year-old Blake Coker for Strong Armed Robbery, after he allegedly grabbed a necklace from a 71-year-old victim.

On Monday evening, the victim reported that he had met Coker earlier in the day while the victim was working in his yard in the 2000 block of Pellam Blvd. He said that Coker, who introduced himself as “Blake,” asked if there was any work he could do.

After working out an arrangement for work to be done and payment, Coker again contacted the victim in order to provide him with a receipt. When Coker arrived at the house Monday evening, the victim noted that Coker was staring at his gold chain and cross he was wearing.

The victim told deputies that Coker suddenly reached out, grabbed the necklace and pulled it with enough force to cause it to break from around the victim’s neck. Coker then fled on foot down the street.
