NAPLES, Fla. - The 5th annual Pets on Third, a favorite Third Avenue South event benefiting the City of Naples Dog Park, will include a PetFest with a myriad of vendors and a themed costume parade and contest.

This year’s theme, All-Star Pets: Show Your Team Spirit, encourages owners and their pets to show their team spirit in whatever creative way they choose. Before, during and after the noon parade, participants can browse the pet specialty items for sale, including collars, leashes, scarves, treats and more; chat with local veterinarians, professional trainers and pet boarders; or commission a portrait of their beloved pet from one of the artists who will be on hand.

Mayor John Sorey serves as Grand Marshal for the fun and festive noon parade of costumed pets and their owners strutting their stuff and hoping to take home one of several prizes. Theme costumes for pets and their owners are encouraged but not required as prizes will be awarded in three categories: Most Unusual Costume, Pet & Owner Look-Alike and Best Theme Costume.

Check-in for the parade and costume contest begins at 10am and remains open until 11:30am. There is a $25 registration fee, payable by check or cash only. All pets must be on a leash and all children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. No female pets in heat will be allowed.
