CAPE CORAL, Fla.- Cape Coral Police have released the name of the victim shot and killed in front of his home on SE 12th Ave. over the weekend.

Authorities are now asking for the public's help in finding the person who killed 34-year-old Pierre Jacques Dervil.

WINK News spotted a Cape Coral forensics team continuing to collect evidence Monday in the case of a brutal murder.

Police say Pierre Dervil, 34, was shot in the head early Saturday morning. Whoever did  it is still on the loose.

"He was friendly and he went about his thing, and I got my mail and came back and that was it." That's about all Pete Chovan knows about his neighbor.  He tells WINK News a homicide feet from his apartment has him thinking about moving.  "I want to finish my retirement my way!" he said.

Police remain tight lipped about a suspect in the case, or a possible motive. Documents show Devril does have a history with the law.

His body was found in between two parking spaces. Monday, the entire are had been scrubbed clean.
The Cape Coral Police Department has also continued to question neighbors about what they saw on Saturday.

"Everything. What you saw.  What you heard," said Joe Castonguay, who lives across the street.  "They scoured the whole area. They went over it with metal detectors, they did a good job."

Neighbors note seeing a young woman with a child living with him, but also some suspicious activity. "There was all kinds of traffic going in and out of that unit. Guys in and out all hours of the night," said Castonguay.

Police say, this is a targeted incident, and the public is not in any danger.
The investigation is ongoing. If you have any information, you are asked to call SWFL Crime Stoppers at 1-800-780-TIPS.
