NORTH FORT MYERS, Fla. -- U.S. 41 has reopened after a pedestrian was hit and killed by three vehicles.

The Florida Highway Patrol reports a person tried to cross U.S. 41 and was hit by a someone driving south in a Nissan. According to the FHP report, after being hit by the car, two other vehicles, both driving south, also hit the pedestrian.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased on scene. FHP is not releasing the name until they can notify the family.

No charges have been filed against any of the drivers.
