BONITA SPRINGS, Fla.- The Salvation Army of Lee Hendry and Glades counties discovered another anonymous donation this morning. Someone dropped a 2012 Liberty Eagle silver dollar coin into a red kettle at the Publix at Pelican Landing, that was accompanied by a note that read “Inspired by: In Memory of Mimi donor…”.

This generous donations comes at a good time, with 13 days left to ring, The Salvation Army of Lee, Hendry and Glades counties has reached 45.5 percent of its goal of $615,000. Donations raised during the red kettle campaign help fund The Salvation Army’s Christmas Cheer program as well as dozens of other programs that help those in need year-round: shelter for homeless families, food for the hungry and rehabilitative services for those suffering from addiction, to name a few.

Donations and volunteer bell-ringers are desperately needed. The Salvation Army of Lee, Hendry and Glades counties has bell-ringers at over 60 locations throughout Lee County. To volunteer, call 278-1551.
