WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. (AP) - The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office says two pilots who were hit with a green laser were able to land the JetBlue plane safely.
A sheriff's office statement says the pilots on flight 521 from LaGuardia to West Palm Beach had the laser pointed at them on Monday night. They were about five miles from the Palm Beach International Airport.
The pilot said he believed he was being tracked because the person using the laser kept making sweeping movements with the light across the aircraft. The pilot also said he had "to shield his eyes" to be able to land.
Authorities have not made any arrests.
The statement says there's been "an ongoing problem" with lasers being pointed at planes landing at the airport.
