LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A North Fort Myers man died at Gulf Coast Medical Center today, after a crash on southbound I-75 near Corkscrew Rd., caused by an apparent medical episode.
The Florida Highway Patrol said 62-year-old Daniel Lee traveled onto the grassy shoulder off the highway, crossed the berm, hit a metal fence, struck a wooden fence, all before finally hitting a tree.
The passenger in the vehicle was not injured.
The crash was not alcohol related, and both parties were wearing their seatbelts, according to FHP.
