ENGLEWOOD, Fla.- The Charlotte County Sheriff's Office needs the public's help catching a real-life grinch, or group of grinches.
Deputies say someone stole 21 Chrismas trees from a high school fundraising sale, which amounts to about $1,050.
That money would have gone toward the ROTC program at Lemon Bay High School and a big end-of-the-year party for seniors.
"It's a big disappointment not to be able to have those trees to sell," said principal Bob Bedford. "Just think of who you're affecting. You're affecting the kids here at the high school and that's disappointing."
Investigators say the theft happened between Nov. 29 and Dec. 1. School administrators say they are looking through surveillance video from those dates.
Lemon Bay received a new shipment of trees on Wednesday to continue the fundraiser.
