FORT MYERS, Fla.- A driver was allegedly attacked and robbed after accidentally hitting a dog that was running loose on Broadway Avenue last night.

"When I stopped, I called 911 immediately. I talked to 911 on the phone and they tell me to wait and an officer will be there. I get out of the car and look at what happened to the dog and the one lady come and say, 'Hey! That's my dog!'," Raphael Galety said.

The woman, identified as Camille Dixon, and several others, including Jay Victorian and Eldridge Walker, surrounded him and began beating him, demanding money, according to Galety.

"And when I go back like that, I see four of them come! I can't do nothing! They just beat me up and punch me up until they get my wallet," said Galety.

Someone also reportedly stole his phone in the commotion.

Dixon's mother said the pit bull is suffering with broken bones and internal injuries. She said she can't believe how the situation got so out of control.

"Did this go too far? It really did. I was cooking inside. I don't know how it all escalated like that," said Dixon's mother.

All three suspects are being held at the Lee County Jail with no bond. Deputies said Dixon also faces battery charges, because she was allegedly fighting with arresting deputies.
