FORT MYERS, Fla.- The new library in downtown Fort Myers may open in mid-December.

According to the Lee County public information officer, the rainy season created significant delays, but the work is nearly complete.

The downtown bookdrop will remain open until the new library is opened.

All library staff will receive training on new equipment.
