LEE COUNTY, Fla.- If Representative Trey Radel steps down because of his drug arrest, Former Congressman Connie Mack may step back into the position.

Mack gave up his Congressional seat back in 2012 for an unsuccessful run against Senator Bill Nelson. A new Politico report said Mack is reaching out to supporters, but will only follow through if Congressman Radel resigns.

Mack's deputy campaign manager said Mack's phone has been ringing off the hook with people encouraging him to run. That campaign manager said all options are being considered.

Rep. Trey Radel is a former WINK-TV news anchor and conservative talk show host on 92.5 Fox News Radio in Fort Myers.
