COLLIER COUNTY, Fla.- A former executive for a number of Southwest Florida hospitals was indicted today for allegedly obstructing a federal investigation.

Joshua Putter was an executive for Health Management Associates, a hospital group based out of Naples.

Putter appeared in federal court today.

Prosecutors said Putter knowingly falsified documents related to an investigation being carried out by the FBI and Health and Human Services.

This summer, HMA announced a Tennessee company is planning on buying the chain.
