LEE COUNTY, Fla.- A former Medstar employee is suing Lee County to get his job back.
Robert Fulton was the flight operations manager for the now defunct air ambulance program. Medstar was grounded in August 2012 for billing of Medicare and Medicaid without the proper certification.
According to the lawsuit, months earlier, Fulton expressed his concerns about the unlawful billing practices to his supervisors. Weeks later he was terminated.
Now, he's asking to be reinstated with full seniority, be awarded back pay, and compensation for court costs and attorney fees.
We've reached out to Fulton and his lawyer for comment and have not heard back.
