LEE COUNTY, Fla. -- A brand new Lee County company is catering to people who don't want to or can't leave home to go to the grocery store.

Fort Myers Daily Bread was founded just a couple of months ago. It delivers meals directly to your door.

You'll often find Ron Viers running in and out of the grocery store: not for himself, but for others like Sanibel residents Charles and Claire Tesoro.

"Right now it's a home based company, just a handful of people, working, driving, but it's growing very fast," he explained.

Viers is the founder of Fort Myers Daily Bread. His main clients are senior citizens, some who are homebound, or have recently gotten out of the hospital.

"I want to make a difference, and that's one way I can help serve the community, while making a living at the same time," Viers said.

You pick out products online at FortMyersDailyBread.com or give him your list via phone. Pay online, and he delivers.  "I'm very competitive with Publix, Sweetbay and Walmart, I shop all three stores regularly," he said.

It's a small business of three to five people. As he's gaining more interest, and with the start of winter season, he's expecting to hire more drivers.

Sanibel residents Charles and Claire Tesoro are clients who utilize the service once a week.

"I make out the list and I call it into him, and this way I don't buy things that I wouldn't normally buy, and it's better health-wise I think!  I can do things I want to do. Be in the garden. Read a good book. Do other things other than being in the supermarket," said Claire.

"He does all the work, it's a pleasure! At my age, going back and forth to the store, off the island, back, and lugging the groceries up the 16 steps up and down the stairs! By the time you finish it's like a days work," said Charles.

You get free delivery with a 150 dollar purchase, or pay 20 dollars, if you're under that amount.

This isnt just for seniors, but for those with timeshares or vacation rentals, too. If you visit southwest Florida and would rather hit the beach, than the grocery story right away, you can coordinate a delivery with them.
