LEE COUNTY, Fla. - Two Fort Myers teens went on what deputies call a brazen crime spree Thursday through Lehigh Acres.
Christian Aranda, 18, and Ronnie Sheppard, 16, are accused of breaking in to two homes and burglarizing a third.
Arand made his first appearance Friday morning in Lee County court and is facing a laundry list of felony and misdemeanor charges, including burglary, grand theft larceny, animal cruelty, weapons offense, and contributing to delinquency of a minor. He's being held on $165,000 bond and is due back in court on December 16.
Sheppard has three prior arrests, most recently for burglary and robbery in September. His charges are still pending.
The two allegedly stole a car from North Fort Myers, and broke in to a home in Lehigh Acres. They tried to break in to another home, where they shot and killed a family dog.
The sheriff's office says a neighbor called 911 when they heard the gun shots and saw the two men running from one of the homes carrying a TV. The teens attempted to break in to one more home before taking off again, and crashing in to another vehicle.
