LEE COUNTY, Fla.- State investigators said former Lee County School Superintendent Dr. Joseph Burke was wrong to suspend an investigation into top administrator Dr. Deedara Hicks. She was accused of being drunk on the job.
The Inspector General's Office released it's final report today, after getting responses from Burke and the school district.
In the report, the State said there was not enough evidence to prove Burke improperly moved $1.6 million in grant money, or that he used other funds inappropriately.
The State recommended policy changes to prevent future problems.
