LEE COUNTY, Fla. - Luis Gonzalez was sentenced to 60 years in prison this afternoon for the 2008 murder of Tia Poklemba. Judge Edward Volz imposed a 30-year for each count.
In September, a jury found Gonzalez guilty of manslaughter, after he ran over Poklemba with his car in the San Carlos Park area.
Gonzalez fled the country after the murder, and was on the run for four years, before being captured in Mexico.
