LEE COUNTY, Fla.- Families with relatives in the Philippines are waiting for word after a monster-sized storm devastated the country. Estimates put the death toll at 10,000 people.

Rescue efforts are happening in the small nation of 96 million people and a local organization is asking for your help. The Filipino-American Association of Southwest Florida is asking for donations in the wake of the worst tragedy to ever hit that country.

Dr. Zeny Javier, the former Executive Director of the Association said, "I would like to call for the generosity of the American people especially in the Lee County area to please help our people in this time of need. Any donation will be appreciated."
