LEE COUNTY, Fla.- WINK News is learning more about the man Lee County deputies said knowingly spread HIV to three unsuspecting women. Tony Paulino is still behind bars.

"There's nothing you can do to change what's been done. These people will have to deal with this for the rest of their life. Unfortunately," said a woman who was not connected to this case, but who claimed to have had a relationship with Paulino.

She called him a sick person.

According to an arrest warrant, the Lehigh Acres man knowingly spread HIV to three women.

"I'm not surprised. It doesn't surprise me," said the woman.

WINK News learned just how far back Paulino's lies travel.

One victim told deputies she became involved with Paulino in November 2007. Diagnosed with HIV one year later, that woman met another victim while running an HIV support group.

The second victim dated Paulino in December 2010. It would take her two years to find she was HIV positive.

According to the report:

"In October of 2012, (victim) began to get sick. (Victim) had a series of medical tests done to determine what was wrong with her health. In March of 2013, (victim) was diagnosed with human immunodeficiency virus infection (H.I.V.)"

And a third, who did not want to press charges, also dated Paulino in 2010.

"(Victim) confronted Paulino with her medical diagnosis and told him that she had contracted H.I.V. Paulino stated to (victim) that he had H.I.V.; however he did not need to take any medication for the virus as of yet."

She said she'd rather focus on her health than press charges.

WINK news spoke exclusively to Paulino's wife Sunday. The couple has a 2-week-old baby.

The wife said both she and the baby tested negative, but it can take months for the virus to show up.

We reached out to Paulino's lawyer. He had no comment at this time.

We also spoke with Dr. Donnamarie Hamilton-Ross who is a community activist.

Hamilton-Ross says a woman who once had a long relationship with Paulino many years ago also contracted HIV from him and had no idea.

"Completely blindsided, not only about him sleeping with other people, but also that he had given her HIV," said Dr. Hamilton-Ross.

"Some people, you have got to stop them because if that is his habit, then he will have to do it again," said Dr. Hamilton-Ross.
