HENDRY COUNTY, Fla. - We have new information about a former South Trail firefighter in big trouble with the law. Timothy Alexander remains behind bars in the Hendry County Jail. A new report just came in for his arson arrest. And, investigators now say he didn't act alone in setting his estranged wife's car on fire.
The State Fire Marshal's report says that Alexander was with a woman by the name of Kelsey Tyson the night of the fire.
One person interviewed said Tyson works at Scarlett's Cabaret, a strip club in Fort Myers. She's currently in the Lee County Jail for violation of probation.
This fire happened in the early morning hours of March 25th in the area of Helms road, near Mockingbird Lane in LaBelle.
According to the report, "Timothy Alexander informed Kelsey Tyson that he wanted to go 'repo' his 2006 Ford Explorer from his estranged wife in LaBelle"
The report goes on to say "Timothy Alexander asked Kelsey Tyson to come with him to LaBelle to help set the vehicle on fire. She was in fear that if she didn't comply, he would cause harm to her."
The report says Alexander first tried to start the fire in the driver's seat using paper. When that didn't work, he lit a styrofoam cooler on fire in the driver's seat. Hours after the fire, Tyson told investigators that alexander went to work as a firefighter.
Alexander is facing an arson charge. He's also accused of raping a 16-year-old girl back in September inside the party bus he owns. And, he's facing an additional charge of attempted escape after trying to get out of a patrol car transporting him from a hospital to the Hendry County Jail.
